Refundability policy

How can I request a refund for an additional service?

The ancillaries inherit the refundability condition of the purchased ticket fare and are refunded only if the customer requests it together with the ticket. The following conditions apply:

  1. Ticket fare acquired
  2. Ticket issuance date
  3. Type of additional service purchased

Keep in mind:

  • As of June 1, 2023, you have the option to request a refund for the additional services you purchase for your reservation along with the refund of your ticket, applicable if your fare is L or XXL.
  • Additional services not provided by the airline will be refundable for all fares.
  • It is not possible to transfer the additional services to third parties, and their use is intended exclusively for the initially purchased itinerary.
  • Additional services will only be refunded if you request the refund of the ticket to which they are associated before the flight departure, following the same conditions that apply to tickets. (Refund requests made after the original flight date are not accepted).
  • Refunds for ancillaries issued through Avianca's direct channels must be requested at www.avianca.com. Ancillaries issued by travel agencies must be managed directly by the agency.
  • If the customer purchased the ticket through a travel agency and later bought an additional service through Avianca's direct channel, they must request the refund for each document through their purchasing channel.
