January 3: Exemption for itinerary change (flight closure due to force majeure, mandatory safety NOTAM)

Avianca informs passengers with confirmed reservations on January 3 and 4, 2026, on flights TO OR FROM CUR, AUA, and SJU, who are affected in their travel plans due to mandatory security processes (Force Majeure NOTAM), that flexibility has been enabled to make changes to their itinerary without penalty fees or fare differences, allowing travel up to 14 days after the date of the new itinerary, subject to availability.

Likewise, the customer may change the return segment under the same conditions as the affected segment, even if it is not affected, provided it is on the same ticket, or if the segments are on different tickets, as long as both are issued/managed by Avianca.

Conditions for applying the waiver:

  • Travel up to 14 days after the date of the originally affected flight.

  • No change penalty applies for itinerary changes.

  • No fare difference applies.

  • No route changes are allowed.

  • Changes must be made on the same route or with common points, and in the same cabin, subject to availability.

  • For Amadeus agencies, the process must be handled as a voluntary change, as it is parameterized by DW.

  • Non-Amadeus agencies must follow the instructions of the self-service change process for travel agencies.

  • Applies to group reservations with deposit, without ticket issuance.

  • Applies to group reservations with issued tickets.

  • If the passenger chooses a route change, the passenger must cover, by their own means, transportation to or from their new destination
