Waiver notice due to protests in SMR 23SEP26
Flexible travel policies are activated for passengers as a result of protests in SMR.
Passengers with a confirmed AVAGIL ticket on flights to and from SMR scheduled for travel on September 23, 2026.
Likewise, the customer may reschedule their return flight under the same conditions as the affected leg—even if the return is not affected—provided both legs are under the same ticket, or issued on separate tickets where both belong to Avianca.
Conditions:
- Date change: Reaccommodation up to 15 days based on the original itinerary.
- Rerouting: Via common point without penalty or fare difference. In these cases, passengers must arrange their own ground transportation to/from their new destination.
- Refund: Applies according to the established procedure.
Considerations:
- Applies to all fares.
- Changes apply to the same cabin class as the original flight.
- If the passenger has checked baggage, it must be verified that it has been handled internally by the airport.
- No compensation applies to passengers experiencing missed connections.
- Changes are subject to the availability of flights open for sale published in the GDS.
- The waiver applies to booked and confirmed groups provided they hold an AVG validation plate.
- Applies to group bookings with a deposit, prior to ticket issuance.
- Applies to all tickets issued through any sales channel.
